Happy Halloween!!

Hello friends,
Happy halloween everyone!
Hope your day was filled with lots of sugary candy and spooky sites.

Our quads first Halloween was pretty eventful actually, even though we are couped up in the house til....ummmm..... APRIL!

The babies napped better today than they have in weeks, it was AWESOME!! Then after the first nap, i was on a "good nap" high and decided to try something new, something that was long over due. FEEDING ALL FOUR AT ONCE. Whats that you say... they are 9 and a half months and you have never fed all four at once... that is correct. I know, I know, i should have accomplished this task already. But i never bottle propped my kids, which i regret a bit now, because of their reflux. i was always scared they would choke. So i always fed two at a time. And for those of you who read my daily schedule a few posts ago, i would let two play while feeding the other two. Lately, Reid and Trey are finally starting to try to hold their own bottles. You may have noticed the fireworks and parade in Murphy this week, i through it because i was so damn excited about them holding their bottles (just kidding, no fireworks or parade, but i would have if i could). Its not 100% all the time but its getting there. I was so worried they would be one before they started holding their own bottles. And for Cameron, it maybe, that girl makes no attempt, such a princess!

So all that being said, i walked into the nursery today after the worlds best nap (i cant even tell you how much i got done, i even started christmas lists) and they were all awake, happy and looking at me with those big blue eyes. So how was i going to leave two in there, I've been spotted. Usually they do not all wake up at the same time. So i took them out one by one and decided to try it. It was either going to be horrible or great. AND IT WAS GREAT! Trey and Reid held their bottles (at the end i had to show them to tilt them up a bit to get the last drops out) and Brady and Cameron drank like champs. I was done with bottles in 17 minutes, burps and all. AAAWWWEEESSSOOOMMMEE! They ate their lunch, played and did great all afternoon.

Now tonight was a different story. Of course, we wanted to participate in Halloween so robbie being the big kid he is set up the fog machine outside and pumpkins on the driveway so no one would come up to the house. We turned our lights off til the babies were fed and down for the night. Then he would go out and help with the trick or treating. Well, the night feed didnt go great! Poor Trey has three top teeth coming through at the exact same time. AND i started changing their schedule little by little each day to get adjusted for the time changed, which i now know they are on to (smart kids). AND they had three shots yesterday, one being their second flu shot and blood taken, AND i introduced meats for the first time yesterday, which i think is bothering their tummies a bit. NOTHING LIKE PILING IT ON, RIGHT? So they were fussy to say the least.

I do look forward to the halloween where they can actually go outside and we can really dress them up. Next year we may test the waters and just go to our neighbors houses but hopefully after that, we will be less restricted. But we didnt do much costume wise, money being tight i found these outfits for very inexpensive and that was that! Enjoy!

Also, we love living in our small town and love to support our local businesses and papers. I dont think i have put any links up to our media stories but we havent had any really since the quads were little. But one of our two local papers did a story about us this week, kind of a where they are at now. Thought i would help promote the local paper for our Murphy/Plano readers :)

we went out with our son and the girls this evening, trick-or-treating our neighborhood. yes, you will love it when your kids get bigger. i think this was the 1st year our son really understood what trick-or-treating was all about. the girls did wonderful. couldn't have asked for better babies (even going past their nap time!) i will say we were mauled by our neighbors. it was quite the sight :P

happy halloween to you!

I TOTALLY get you with the holding their own botte thingy. It was like a prayer being answered when our quaddos started that. One of the best gifts a quad baby (or any baby for that matter) could give their parents!

The pics were great. Next year will be a whole 'nuther ball game. Better start thinking of their costumes now. Maybe you could even get some on clearance now that Halloween is over. The only problem is guesstimating what size they'll be in a year. Oh well!

Love,
Moni

Congrats on the self feeding!!! I remember that day like it was yesterday. Love the pics - you did such a good job of getting all 4 to look at the camera in the pumpkin patch. I only have 3 babies and one big girl and can't even achieve that!

Love the updates!
