Got questions... We have answers!

Many of you have been patiently waiting on a Reid update, and i do apologize for not getting it to you sooner.
We got a call last week from her oncologist about her blood work. After a total of 6 rounds of previous blood work ups, SHOCKINGLY her results were ALL normal, across the board. My first reaction was THANK GOD! This has been terrifying us to no end and just want to see our little girl healthy! My second reaction is "hey, wait a minute, are you sure we aren't missing anything since the others were abnormal"?

The answer was this. Since the results came back high but every blood tests were lower and lower, they think her body was going through an "adjustment-find-itself" phase. Not medical jargon but I still don't understand why. We went to the best oncologist in the area and she feels that whatever Reid's test results yielded before, they were benign. She said if there is a tumor, it doesn't just stop producing bad numbers whenever it wants, they either stay the same or go up. They don't appear and reappear. Reid's breast development has also slowed down, therefore the endocrinologist and the oncologist have diagnosed it as "Precocious Thelarche".

This is all AMAZING news and we have been basking in it!!! They will redraw her blood in 6 weeks from now and see if they levels are still normal. If not, then we start with a liver MRI and go from there. WE THANK ALL OF YOU FOR ALL THE THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS YOU HAVE GIVEN HER! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!
And of course, Reid is still her same ole hyper, tiny, crazy self. But instead she now has figured out how to climb on the couches, tables and anything else for that matter... and so have her siblings. I am keeping my fingers crossed they don't figure out their cribs yet!

With all that has been going on with Reid and our families, my business and we have been SICK for the last two weeks... I have been terrible at answering blog readers questions... SO SORRY!

We have done this before but thought we would do it again, as things have changed a lot for us in the last year and we have some new readers.

A LITTLE Q & A!!

If there is something you want to ask Robbie or I (or the kids, i can answer on their behalf :)), ask away. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep the questions appropriate, we do still have personal lives (a little anyways). We will answer your questions on a post Monday (Oct 12) evening. I will try really hard to be on time this time :)

So our kids have started this new habit that is super cute. Some of their habits... not so cute. After nap, when they have their snack, they all go and sit against the front door together on the mat. Have no idea why. And i love that the phase they are in now, they LOVE being cheese balls for the camera! As seen here. L to R: Brady, Cameron, Trey, Reid

Another day, did the same thing. Silly kiddos. DISCLAIMER: Yes, the boys have more than just ghostbuster shirts but really we just put them in whatever is clean and Trey helps pick out outfits. This was taken with my old camera because mommy was SOO sick on bed that day and this was all daddy could get to.

Seriously, HAMMING IT UP!!!!!!!! My goof troop!

"Sissy, your hair looks crazy today.. how about a leave in conditioner next time" - Trey commenting on what humidity and a nap does to Reid's OH SO curly hair.

My stud muffin Trey. STUBBORN as all get out but handsome as can be.

We got the amazing opportunity to see some of our dearest friends. Our fellow quad families. We only were able to come out for a very short time that evening but totally worth it!!! These people are very dear to me. I ask them for so much parenting advice and lean on them as a friend all the time and they are always there for me. LOVE YOU GEN, SUZ & MARI (oh, and Conor, Joe and Chris too :)). This was the first time Robbie got to meet the McNultys and he loved them just as much as i do!

Also you may notice some new blog banners on our blog...
First, March of Dimes... SUCH an important organization supporting the health of preemies! (this banner will be up by end of day Thursday). Please do all you can to support this cause. You can visit their website for ways you can help!

Second, Designed For Babies... my business. We are getting closer and closer to launching. For those who have stuck by me patiently through this, sorry for the delays. Building a retail company that will feature over 500 products plus their variations by myself while being a stay at home mom to four toddlers tends to draw things out. It will be worth the wait!!

Love, Casey

Hello Casey and Robbie,

It's good to read the great news about Reid. Please know that we will continuing to be thinking of her for her next round of bloodwork, may it bring normal results just like this round did.
GO REID!!!

No questions just letting you know that fellow bloggers out there are wishing your daughter the absolute best...

They get cuter all the time!

My question, and it may have been asked before but if so I missed it:

Any more Gerwer babies planned in the future?

If that's too personal, I completely understand I was just curious. ;)

Casey, it's SO GREAT to hear some good news. We'll be praying these results are LASTING and that it was all a little "fluke phase" (super medical terminology). Wish I was there to celebrate, hug you, and go eat dessert. You amaze me, Case!

No doubt God heard every single prayer for that sweetie and He changed those numbers!!! Praise GOD!!!

Silly question, but I'm wondering, I think when you did this before you said you watched some Jon & Kate. Do you still and what do you think about this mess. I loved their show and now I almost feel guilty to watch their family falling apart.

So glad to hear Reid is ok! They are all getting so big!

I have a few questions...
Do you ever get recognized from your blog?
Are any of them identical? They look so much alike! Does anyone other than you and your husband have trouble telling them apart?
Do you have nannies or people that watch them when you guys go out or do your parents watch them most of the time? I nanny 2 year old twins and it is so hard! I couldn't imagine having 2 more! Do they go to daycare during the day since you both work?

Yes, you babies are just precious and I have enjoyed keeping up with them. So glad you go good results, nothing worries us more than the health of our children! Well that's one of the most worries anyway. Isn't it something the boys have straight hair and the girls have curly hair! I had curly hair and my brothers had straight hair....I was always so jealous, but now it doesn't bother me!

It is great to hear that Reid's results came back normal! You have such a cute family.

I am a member of PAMOM with 10 month old b/g twins. I would like to know what have been some of the quads favorite toys, food/recipes, and activities over the past year. I would love to hear about activities you did at home during RSV lockdown.

Thanks!
Debbie

Great news on Reid! I'm sure you all were ready for that bit of relief in your busy lives. I can't wait to see the business launch! How exciting for you!

It's good to finally hear Reid is ok!
I have two questions- what is their birth order and what is their order weight and height wise (biggest to smallest) and has it been that way since birth or have they switched around?
And are you doing RSV lockdown this year? If so, what are your rules?

I know you said you were going to answer these tonight, but in case you aren't going to until tomorrow, I have a question for you. What are the kids middle names and how did you pick all their first and middle names? I love that your girls have unisex names... I am pregnant with a girl and we are going to use Taylor or Riley because I love the idea of unisex names on girls!
Thanks, Maggie

I'm so glad everything seems OK with Reid. Best wishes to you all.

I hope everything is ok with you guys. I have been following your blog since the kids were born (found it off the Steece blog) but I never comment. You don't usually go this long without posting, and you said you were going to post the Q&A last Monday, so I am hoping you have just been super busy and haven't had time (which is completely understandable).
I'm praying for your family and that everything is alright!
Love,

Woo hoo!!! I'm so glad to hear that Reid is healthy!! Congrats sweet family.

I have one random question, don't the McNulty's live in Cali? How are you all able to get together? I follow their blog, too.. and I'm sure other quad moms are the only reason you can stay sane doing all that you do! You're a remarkable group of women.

Emily said...

You can kindly ignore my question about the McNulty's being from Cali.. I clearly hadn't read Gen's blog in a while, but once I did.. all my questions were answered.

I love that quad moms connect all over the country to support each other. Like I said before, you're amazing women.. which is why I find myself returning to your bogs time and time again. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.

Can I get a whoop, whoop for Reid?! Yeah, baby!

I can't believe my eyes....is Trey-man getting a little chub to those cheeks?! He's looking so much older these days. The "Snack Pack" is too cute for words.

Love ya!
